Topics
ISOEN addresses the best results of applied research in the field of gas sensors, artificial olfactory systems and advances on natural olfaction. In this edition we look forward for a strong involvement of industry and a broadening of the participation spectrum to all kinds of analytical instrumentation for odor measurement and to biological olfaction specialists. Expected audience is formed by material scientists, chemists, physicists, engineers, biologists, application specialists (e.g. food, medical, environmental) and computer scientists. A wide range of topics will be treated, including:
- Solid State Sensor Technologies (Metal Oxide, ChemFET, SAW, QMB, Electrochemical, Pellistors).
- Biosensors.
- Other microsystem-based gas detection technologies (Ion Mobility Spectrometry, Infrared microspectrometers and detectors).
- Sampling Techniques (Preconcentrators, SPME, Odor sampling Bags).
- Gas Sensor Testing Systems: Vapor generation techniques, gas mixtures control.
- Electronic Noses and Tongues Instrumentation: Software/Hardware design.
- Data Processing (Signal preprocessing, Feature Extraction and Selection, Pattern Recognition, Validation, Clustering, Multiway Methods, Data Fusion).
- Analytical chemistry topics (Experimental Design, Process Control , Calibration Transfer).
- Applications (Industrial, Environment, Automotive, Medical, Consumer).
- Biological Principles of Olfaction: mammals and insects.
- Computational models of the olfaction and Bioinspired Algorithms.
- Olfactometry: Odour Intensity Measurement.
Paper submissions are welcome in all these areas, but not limited to this topics list.
